Why We Like The Altra Torin 7 Shoe
Nothing helps performance like comfort and the Altra Torin 7 Shoe brings both in droves. These cushioned running shoes combine a 30mm midsole with a 0-drop rockered design that propels you forward while offering the familiarity of a flat shoe. Meanwhile, the mesh upper, lace closure, and tacky rubber outsole keep you focused on your time not your toes.

Definitely will buy again!
I use these shoes primarily for running and lifting. I have been using mainly Altras for over a year and really like these shoes! They are flexible but sturdy; the perfect combination for a ballerina/runner. My feet are narrow and tend to contract when I work out, but I feel secure in these shoes and my running has improved greatly because I finally have shoes that fit! My only suggestion for improvement is the length of the laces-once the shoes are completely broken in the laces are ok, but when brand new the laces are too short to tie well. Also- I loved the bright colors of the Escalante 3--I would buy those colors in a Torin in a heartbeat!

Hard pass!
I've been running with Altras for several years, from Intuition then eventually Torins. I can say that the 7's are garbage, and it seems the Torins get gradually worse with every new line. It feels as if Altra is trying to reinvent the wheel to be Hoka, instead of sticking with what know and what they do best. The whole reason I switched to Altra was I needed the wider toe box when my foot shape changed after pregnancy. The Torin 7 feels stiff (not always a bad thing), but overly tight in the midsole. The new cut of the ankle is awful and rubs the bottom of my outside ankle to a very uncomfortable level. I'd sooner give them to my dog for a chew toy then put these back in my feet and risk injury.

Fit changed and laces are too short
Design change resulted in more narrow shoe; I can no longer return for a men's version of this one. HUGE disappointment. Laces are too short! I cannot even purchase longer laces to match. Do better!

Women's Torin 6
I loved the fit and feel of my Torins. The most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. But unfortunately they do not hold up. The material breaks down. They are falling apart. They were not even a year old. I contacted customer service but I never heard back. Unfortunately I will not be purchasing another pair. Which is a disappointment because I really liked the pair I had.

Worst quality ever
I am extremely disappointed in the quality of these expensive shoes. Within a few months there were holes in the heels of the shoes. I was told they cannot replace it. DO NOT EVER BUY THIS BRAND!

Loved the 6s... not so much the 7s
Torin 6s were my first Altras & I loved them... I bought 2 pair. Ordered the 7s when the 6s were gone & I am very disappointed. They're not as wide toed & hurt! I tried to break them in to no avail

Unwearble
I've been a faithful wearer of the Altra Torin since the 1.5, and this is the first version that is completely unwearable for me. The level of cushion seemed like it would have been wonderful, unfortunately the changes to the upper have me looking for a new shoe. The upper is now so tight across the top of my foot that my toes go to sleep within a few minutes of putting them on. There has also been a change to the ankle area where the cut-out for the ankle bone doesn't align correctly, and rubs my ankle bone (the left is worse than the right, for some reason). Heartbroken to say goodbye to years of wearing the Torin.

Lifter loves them
I'm a 46-year-old former runner, having had surgery for a herniated disc two years ago. My chiropractor recommended walking might be a better choice, unless I was willing to be a slave to my watch to stay at a slower pace, and be hyper-focused on gait and form. He also advised I buy a zero drop shoe, and focus more on strength. I do walk frequently, but particularly enjoy the challenge of weight lifting, and haven't run in months. My mom had bought me a gift card at my local running store prior to me having surgery. I asked the shoe salesman for a shoe I might be able to walk in, but also lift in, and he recommended the Torin 7. I love them! They give me the support I need to feel balanced and stable. I wasn't sure I'd like the roomy toe box as someone with a narrower foot, but they give me a perfect amount of toe room without the heel slip that tends to come with a shoe with more width. These are the most comfortable shoe I've ever had.

Has Helped with Heel Pain
Just bought these to replace my Hoka Clifton 8s after PT suggested a less cushy shoe to resolve heel pain not related to P. Fasciitis. I am a walker and these come up on the Altra site for this purpose. I Initially purchased a 6.5 in regular from a store because sales rep said the shoes naturally run wide. The toe box felt roomy with enough toe spread but the length felt a little short, even tho there was a thumb's width distance to end of shoe, and the section where the laces wrap was very snug. I had read this in previous reviews but went with the sales rep's recommendation. Contacted Altra and they recommended I match size and width of Hokas so returned the 6.5 Regular and ordered 6.5 Wide from Altra. The length of the toe box and the width is more roomy but not too roomy that it feels loose, and no more snug feeling around the lace area. I notice that the very end of the vinyl eye stay where the laces start lacing up creates a crease when I am walking thru my stride. Not sure if it's because I'm wearing a wide now and it may have relocated the eye stay lower on my foot? It's not painful but I notice it when I'm walking. I'm adjusting to a lower heel drop but so far, I don't have any heel pain after walking 2 miles/day. Chat agent was great and I like that they offer a 30-day trial wear period both indoor and outdoor. I will keep these and keep monitoring fit.
