River banks and river bottoms both offer their challenges to anglers, which is why we like the Grundens Bankside Wading Boot. This boot features waterproof nubuck leather uppers with high-cut ankle collars to support us as we bushwhack through brush to the reach river and also navigate underwater hazards as we sneak up on brookies and brownies. The traction also impresses with Vibram Idrogrip rubber—with wet surface grip that's especially made for fly fishing—and soles that are also compatible with Grunden's HEXAGRIP alloy cleat and stud system (sold separately) to dig into extra slick river bottoms.

Very comfortable.
Grundens did an awesome job with these boots. They have great range of motion while providing plenty of ankle support. The Hexagrip system with the combo of aluminum and carbide has kept me dry from unintentionally swims. The only downside is that they take awhile to dry out. So be careful when putting away.

Wading boots
Boots are comfortable, rugged and well made. On a recent trip to Chile the boots held up very well on all sorts of river bottoms.

Most Comfortable Boot Ever
I've been fishing most of my life an guiding professionally for 15 years. This is the most comfortable boot I've ever had, and I have worn a lot of boots. Tested them on a notoriously slippery steelhead river and was blown away at the traction. Great job Grundens!!

Super nice!
It’s been quite a minute since my feet were so happy in wading boots. These literally feel like just a regular pair of comfy work boots and the ultimate test for me is normally I can’t wait to get my wading boots off at the end of the day…not the case with these babies. They are extremely sturdy too. I didn’t buy the studs since I’m in a boat most of the time but I bet they are helpful when tromping on the rocks.

Favorite boot
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Boots have great support without being stiff. Very comfortable and easy to get on and off. I added the hexagrip stud kit and the grip is fantastic.

High Quality

Comfortable- feel light on my feet- awesome boots!
8 miles of walking in two days in these boots and I'm super happy. In a perfect world I would order a half size smaller, but the extra room will allow for warmer socks in the winter. I took the boots straight out of the box (after adding the hexagrips which work great) and with zero break-in outings fished two long days without hotspots. Great comfort, nice even flex walking, and they feel light on my feet for big days! Really excellent wading boots.
