Nicely designed shoe but not “Barefoot” enough…
Love the shoe look and design but felt it was too distant from being a true “Barefoot” shoe. Had to return them as toe box was too narrow, unlike the Trail Glove 5, which I loved and still wear, tread is worn out now but great for general use. Admittedly I would have kept these if toe-box was wider and more protected on the large toe joint section. Also a great move to add more protection for base of foot since tread is thicker on the Trail Glove 7. But sadly not going to work for me.

Very pleased. I ordered another pair.
As I've transitioned to "barefoot" shoes, my feet have actually spread out to their human shape over the years and I've had to throw away typical shoes with their crimped toe box.. That's probably not something some people want to hear, but we should all boycot shoes that are not shaped like our feet. These are the most comfortable shoe in the word. I bought a second pair after a week of wearing the other.

Feesl like I'm wearing clown shoes
Should stick with the trail glove 6s, these run larger than previous iteration.

Great balance of cushion, grounding, stability
Advertised as a trail shoe but they make for a great crosstrainer. They feel great on sprints, lunges, deadlift, squat. Functional as a casual shoe but I would be mindful of concrete.

Finally a good replacement.
I’ve exclusively worn Merrell’s for 15 years and focus on barefoot shoes. The last few years or so have been tough to stay the course. First, a good looking barefoot shoe really wasn’t on the site IMO. I mean some of them looked like they were designed by a drunk person. Just ugly. Second, I got a pair of Nova 3’s and I felt like I was wearing giant foam blocks. The sole is so think I’m wobbly on my feet. This pair or Trail Glove 7’s was my last hope before changing brands and they are great. I took off the Nova’s and put these on and it was amazing. I love the gray color too. Merrell says to go up a 1/2 size, some reviews say go down a 1/2 size. I went up 1/2 and they fit perfectly. I was 9 1/2 in the Nova and a 10 in these.

Great shoes with a caveat
Awesome shoes! Big upgrade from the TG6. Wider, less arch support, and they look better. They are my go to shoe for walking and some trail running. The zero drop and cushioning is perfect for longer days on the feet or some technical trails. They could be a little bit wider but they also hug your foot nicely and have a wide toe box. The only issue is the tread durability. Unfortunately, I have worn down the sole in like 6 months, resulting in bad traction is wet or looser conidtions. The rest of the shoe is in perfect condition. If the sole was stronger this would be a perfect shoe that would last a long time. Hopefully Merrell can correect this with the TG8!!

Buy a size smaller, than your normal size
They fit ok. Sizes are big. I wear 11 1/2, I have and extra 1/2 inch in these. There is no grip, but i have been told to give it a longer break in period. Breathes well, my feet do not over heat after a workout. So far, the durability is present. It seems that merrel actually listened to feedback, unlike so many other companies
