Why We Like The Mountain Hardwear First Tracks Jacket
The first tracks down the mountain calls for a technical shell jacket that is loaded with features and keeps us protected from the elements. Mountain Hardwear’s First Tracks Jacket features a two-layer waterproof Dry.Q® fabric which blocks out the water and still allows our body to breathe. It is durable and can stand up to rough riding. A three-way adjustable hood an dual hem drawcord adjustments allow us to cinch up the jacket to block out the cold wind and snow, while the zippered underarm vents allow us to dump excess heat when we are getting too hot. Two zippered chest pockets, 2 hand pockets, a sleeve pass pocket, and an two internal pockets provide ample room for all of our essentials and keep our valuables safe when we are shredding on the mountain.

Solid jacket for cold, not that flexible

Overall, a good and affordable jacket for cold weather snow sports. Good fit, lots of pockets, solid construction. Main beef is the wrist cuffs, which are nice if it's really cold, but should it get warmer, they're a major impediment to cooling off. Also pit zips are small, and lining thick-ish, limiting options for cooling. I had a lot of sweat around my wrists and lower arms. So again, a good jacket, if only for cold temps.

Another quality jacket from MH
I have 5 days of skiing on the jacket in weather from sunny/warm to heavy snow. The fabric breathability is perfect for sidecountry/in-bounds skiing, but a touch heavy if you're looking for a backcountry jacket. Great windproofing while still breathing. I am 5'11, 165lbs, with broad shoulders. I bought the medium and it can be worn with a puffy underneath comfortably. Not baggy, but still free range of movement. A touch more room on the shoulders would have suited me a bit better. There are a ton of useful pockets, no shortage. Zippers are easy to access, pit zips are a bit cumbersome however. Velcro on the cuffs is easy to adjust with different gloves.

Worth every dime….Top quality products across the board. The fit is a little big as I usually buy large, but the med was just right and I could still layer appropriately and comfortably. The stitching was perfect and the look is just what I wanted. GREAT
Amazing shell…Don’t waste your time thinking about it …..Just do it
