Why We Like The 3L Deep Shell Bib Pant
Ortovox struck gold with the construction of their 3L Deep Shell Bib Pant. It's well known in the backcountry game for its ultra lightweight, superior protection against weather, and surprisingly beautiful range of motion. The merino lining helps actively wick away moisture to keep us dry on our ascent. A Cordura and Dermizax face mean scraggly alpine treelines and scrag don't stand a chance of puncturing it.

Needs zipper clasp and suspender release

I have about thirty days in these bibs - sunshine, freezing, and powder. They are a great design and comfortable however two easy fixes are a major problem for me. First, the side zipper for using the bathroom with layers on does not have a top clasp which makes it impossible to zip with one hand. Juggling gloves, poles, backpack etc. really means you need to be able to use one hand. The other problem is the suspenders do not release. You have to step into them or pull them over your head. These are not deal breakers and are fixable with at-home remedies but I would expect better from Otrtovox. Sizing is a little big in a medium for me but the small is too short in length.
