Why We Like The Xenair Alpine Light Jacket

Of course, we're chilly while belaying at the bottom of the route, but when things heat up on the wall, we don't want to fuss with our layers. Luckily, the Xenair Alpine Light Jacket intuitively adapts to our conditions, so we're not likely to overheat or chill to the bone. Body-mapped PrimaLoft insulation and air-permeable Pertex Quantum Air fabric ensure our comfort, no matter our active output or the temperature around us.

Very warm and light for

Very warm and light for size. For me, the fit is small, mainly due to the non adjustable, quite tight fitting hood and a little narrower than usual across the shoulders for "a regular" fit. I moved to XL which is better, but the hood would still benefit from some adjustment to be able to pull it back off my face. Don't be put off though it is an excellent jacket if it fits you.

A really nice bit of kit. Very light and breathable. I wore and carried this every day for 2 weeks in the alps. The only improvement I'd suggest is a 2 way zip to make it more usable as a belay jacket.

This is a great item

This is a great item of clothing to pack for a hike. It packs up very small, is light and when used keeps you very well protected from the wind. I had originally thought its use would be occasional and limited, but it has quickly become my "go to" layer for everyday wear.

Great jacket

Got Xenair Alpine and Alpine Light, both great! Fit is great, especially movement in the shoulders, comfortable and must have piece for your layering system.

Great slim fit and keeps

Great slim fit and keeps the sleeve length (rare for a tall thin bloke!). Excellent under a harness on windy sea cliffs or as an extra layer on a multi-pitch belay. Also perfectly acceptable for the pub afterwards!!

The perfect summer/alpine insulated jacket. Packs down really well. Warmth for weight is outstanding. Absolutely great for packing into an alpine pack.

I decided to replace my

I decided to replace my Xenon 1.0 with the Xenair Alpine Light Insulated jacket. Unfortunately I wish I had not purchased the Xenair. There are 3 key issues I find with the Xenair Alpine Light: - wrist cuffs are not as elasticated as on the Xenon so I found it harder to get the jacket off - the hand pockets are too high up so I cannot relax my arms when my hands are in the pockets which is very uncomfortable - the zip to access the top storage pocket is on the inside of the jacket not the outside which I have found to be annoying
