Nice looking but big!
Too big! Wish you made a woman’s smaller size! Returned them!

Amazing support
These flats shoes rock! They keep sand out and stand up to everything from sand, to skiffs, to razor sharp coral.

I really wanted to love these.
First impressions when I received these were positive: good fit, felt comfortable, good support, durable construction. Impressions after wearing them for 8 days on North Andros are not so positive. 1. The footbed is quite hard and unforgiving. 2. Seems like they were built for people who don't log lots of miles while spending their time on firm, pristine sand flats. I logged probably 5-6 miles a day slowly working many, many acres of flats over 6 to 8 hours. The flats ranged from nice and firm to soft with many dips and holes. By the end of each day my feet HURT! In fact, I've never had my feet hurt so badly from shoes. 3. They seem overbuilt, too stiff and heavy for these kinds of applications. Again, if you're just cruising around perfectly hard flats for a couple hours, they're fine. 4. The sole could use a little more built-in traction. One day I walked a degraded coral shoreline to get to some flats. The rock was covered with a thin film of muck and these boots skated crazily on it and I almost wiped out. And this was not a spot it would be easy to get help if hurt. 5. It would be nice if the build was more like a light hiking shoe with more cushion, better flexibility and better traction. A more athletic build for people who move and cover a lot of ground. Would return them if I could.

Perfect with the Fly weight wading socks
So far I’ve used it wading off the beaches in Belize and have had no issues with them. They are comfy and sturdy. The arches are slightly high if you have flat feet like mine but I quickly got use to them. I also went a half size up to pair them with the Fly weight wading socks.

First class!
First trip in my Simms Flats Sneakers was on a weeklong bonefishing trip to Mars Bay on South Andros. I normally wear a shoe size of 7.5-8 wide, but went with size 9 on the Flats Sneakers with the neoprene socks. Fit was great. We waded some pretty significant distances on a couple of days, and the Sneakers were very comfortable. Glad I got them, and I’d certainly recommend them highly. Caught some nice fish too. I figure it was the Sneakers. Why not!

Well Designed with Two Shortcomings
Flats Sneakers are much like a light wading boot. It is a great concept for saltwater fishing both on shore and in a skiff or boat. They are well crafted and provide great support. Shortcomings include the unusually narrow width and a boat they squeak rather loudly when you fish from a standing position which spooks the fish. Outside of the two major shortcomings I would have given them five stars.

For narrow feet
I posted an earlier review of these boots and stated the same problem that others had with the soles delaminating if you left these boots to dry in the sun. The other problem that I had with these boots were the comfort. They are very narrow - like a B width. Even ordering them 2 sizes larger did not solve the comfort issue for me. Since I wear a 3E width I bought the Simms Free Salt boot which has a very wide toe box and are extremely comfortable for those of us with fat feet. They weigh almost the same and are built very rugged. I've logged over 100 days of walking the flats with these boots and highly recommend them to anyone that has a wide foot. Simms has a real winner with these boots.
