Better than previous model
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- 6.5
I had wanted a pink pair of shoes and I love Altra! I think the fit overall is better than first year- heel cushions thinner - slightly longer in toe box - they fit true to size and fits better than last year’s

Best-fitting, most comfortable Altra shoe!
I've purchased several styles of Altra shoes-Paradigm 6, Olympus 4, Provision 7-but the Olympus 2 is by far the best fitting. The toe box is especially roomy; it's not tapered at the toe like other styles so has more room for swollen toes after a long walk. I usually wear a size 9 in a sport shoe but I did have to order a half size larger for all of the Altra shoes I've ordered. I just wish this style came in a navy blue, dark purple, or black because I wear them so often that they get dirty fast. This is the second pair of Olympus 2 I've purchased so I hope they don't try to change it in any way.

Awesome shoes!
The Via Olympus 2 is the best shoes I have ever had. I used to wear Hoka's and I liked them but my toes were always pinched. Then I discovered Altra shoes and feel in love. For me the Via Olympus 2 is like walking on a cloud.

Small Shoes, Disappointed
I was told these are great shoes for wide toe box. I already have a wide foot(Measure a 6.5 but wear an 8), so I was told to try these. I did the fit finder and it said to get an 8. When I received them they were SOOOOOO Small I felt like I was wearing a size 6.5-7. It was odd, so I sent them back.

Good but the Torin WAS Better
I was a big fan of the Torin.Had many pairs and loved them! It used to have the original footbed. Then they changed the Torin 7 to a thinner, less wide footbed that they now call "standard". Well the standard footbed pinches the sides of my feet after wearing for a few hours. I was so sad like many to know my favorite sneakers are now made for skinny feet only. I tried the Olympus which has the original footbed and the foot bed is great but the sneakers are bulky and high. They also have a harder fell underfoot then my beloved Torins. Then they made th Olympus 2 which is supposed to have a softer feel so I ordered them. They are a little softer underfoot and I am wearing them but they still are clunky and big. I wish they would bring back the original Torins!!

The Old Altra Width
This shoe is the same width and wide toe box as my Paradigm 4's (the greatest shoe they ever made and I can't part with them). Overall these are comfy but not super supportive & don't fit in OTF rower

Very comfortable, but lining is wearing out.
I only wear these to walk my dog three times a day or for long days of errands. I had plantar fasciitis and have small feet with high arches. The shoes are wonderful! However the lining inside the heel has worn through after only four months.

The design still needs work, but I do love them!
I had several pairs of the original Via Olympus as my podiatrist recommended for Morton's neuroma. I decided to buy the Olympus 2 because I felt rubbing and tightness against one of my baby toes over time in the Via Olympus 1. So that problem has been solved with the Via Olympus 2 because they seem wider in the toe region. However, the new design does not include as many tie holes as the original. And so it is hard to tighten these shoes since you can longer customize. In fact, the tying region is much shorter in the updated version than the Via Olympus 1. The new version is softer in the footbed. Even with the criticism above, these are the first shoes that have given me relief from the terrible nerve pain in my toes. I hope that Altra will continue to work on the design of the Via Olympus and pay attention to the critiques in these reviews. I appreciate the generic response from Altra, but would love to actually hear some more specifics as to the rationale to the design changes and whether there is a plan to continue to improve these shoes.

Love them!
I've been telling everyone I know to get these shoes. I usually wear a 7-7.5 depending on brand the fit finder told me 8. I wish I would have gone 7.5. Otherwise literally the best most supportive shoe I have ever worn.

I'm ready to get another pair!!
Most comfortable shoe I've ever had. I've devoted a few foot problems, but these shoes help a lot. Even better than Hokas. I LOVE the wide toe box!!!
